Cult Nails Coco's Untamed Collection!

Today I have swatches of Cult Nails' brand new collection. It's Coco's Untamed collection and it releases tomorrow!

Here's a little background info. before the pretty swatches:
Coco is Maria's youngest daughter and she often helps create colors for Cult Nails. Maria told Coco to pick her 5 favorites and they made it into a collection! Coco and her best friend also got to name all the colors in this collection and the coolest part is that tomorrow is Coco's 13th birthday and so that's why it launches tomorrow, awesome right?!

Also, you'll notice my nails are now rounded. I decided it was time for a change and I actually really like them this way...I just want them to be a little longer.

Without further ado:

L to R: I Got Distracted, Untamed, Annalicious, Deal With It, Spontaneous

Spontaneous. Covered in two coats. This is a dusty purple creme with purple glitter. I just love colors like this because even though the glitter doesn't completely pop, its such a beautiful compliment to the color and the finish of the polish.

Annalicious. Two coats. A gorgeous red that has orange undertones and is packed full of red and gold shimmer. This color was named after Coco's best friend, how sweet is that? I loved this color so much on my newly rounded nails, they felt sexy with this color on!

Deal With It. Two coats. An in your face lime green loaded with gold shimmer. Lime green is Coco's favorite color, so of course it had to make it's way into the collection. This is one of my favorites out of the five!

I Got Distracted. Fully opaque in two coats. A black jelly slammed full of holo and green glitter. Such an amazing polish. The name of this is so perfect because while I had this on I couldn't stop staring at my nails and kept getting distracted! Coco is famous for saying "I Got Distracted" all the time, so in a way, this polish was named after her.

Untamed. Three coats. This is a bubble gum pink jelly with multi-colored shimmer. The shimmer is very suble but gives the color that extra little oomf. This one is my #1 favorite of the collection. It's such a cute pink and I feel like a barbie when I'm wearing it.

As I mentioned above, this collection will become available starting tomorrow, July 11th on the Cult Nails website. It will then be offered for a week (until July 17th) at a discounted "pre-sale" price which will be set at $40 for all five colors. From Blue to Blissful!

Yesterday was not a very good day for me. I woke up to head to the Vet's office to pick up some vitamins that Marvin is taking, and my car wouldn't start...like no clicking from the engine or anything. So I had to go through the whole calling of triple A, waiting for them to arrive, and then finally going to the car repair shop to, ultimately, get a new car battery.

Once it was all said and done, I was thankful it wasn't anything that major...hey, I can handle a new car battery, its just something that we all have to do once in a while. But, I had been stressed about other things that happened at the beginning of the week...so the car thing was just like the cherry on top of the sundae lol!

ANYWAYS, the reason I'm blabbing about all this is because when my mom got home that evening, she had a little surprise to cheer me up!! What is it you ask? Two beauitful blue revlon polishes...and oddly enough, I didn't already own them.

So here is some pretty nail art I did using my two new babies.

The light blue on my thumb, index, middle finger, and top-half of my ring finger is Revlon Coastal Surf. The rest of my ring finger and my pinky is painted with Revlon Indigo Night.

The rhinestones I used to accent my ring finger are some square multi-colored rhinestones that I ordered from Cult Nails. They come in lots of colors (shown below) and they were only $3!

The moral of these nails is that my mom rocks and she really knows how to brighten my day! :)

Happy 4th of July!

For those of you who celebrate, I hope you're all having a great 4th of July! And for everyone else, I hope you are having a good Wednesday!

For the American flag nail: I sectioned off one square to leave blank and painted two coats of Cult Nails Evil Queen so that I could have a red base before the stripes. Then, for the sectioned off part I painted two coats of OPI Dating a Royal for the blue. Once all of that was completely dry I used my dotting tool for the white dots to represent the stars. And I used my white striping tape for the stripes in the flag!

For the rest of my nails: I painted two coats of Cult Nails Evil Queen, then did one coat of Sephora by OPI Flurry Up! (silver hex glitter), and lastly, I did one coat of Icing Disco Ball (blue hex glitter).

Orange You Hot? gets a dose of Captivated

I've been seeing a lot of people doing the gradient look lately so I thought I would give it a try!

The two polishes I used were China Glaze Orange You Hot? and Cult Nails Captivated.

While I was trying to take pictures of my nails, Marvin decided he'd like to help!

aaandd then he just wanted to play with the polish lol! See that Maria, everyone loves cult nails...even cats!

I started by painting two coats of Orange You Hot? and then let it completely dry.

Then I took a sponge makeup applicator and used it to dab on Captivated! I stopped before I covered my entire nail to create the gradient effect.

The final look was gorgeous. And this technique was super easy!

Awakening with Heart Breaker

The other day, I suddenly got the urge to play with some polishes I've had for a long time. What I came up with turned out gorgeous, if I may say so myself :)

Cult Nails Awakening topped with Pure Ice Heart Breaker. I used two coats of Awakening and one coat of Heart Breaker! Awakening will always have a special place in my heart because it's one of the first Cult Nails nail polishes that I ever ordered, and its one of my favorites!

Excuse the tip wear in these photos, I wore this mani for a few days before I got around to taking pics lol.

The shimmer that Heart Breaker adds is just beautiful! I want to put it over every color to see what it does!
