Sation (Miss Professional Nail)

Sation is a brand that up until recently, I'd never heard of. Then I saw the polishes start popping up on the blogs. Sation, owned by Miss Professional Nail, is going through a re-branding period so it seems they are doing their best to market better and get their name out there! Sation provided the Central FL Beauty Bloggers two polishes each, as well as a reusable tote for our meetup bags!

The two I received were Off the Record Pink and You Butter Tell Me

Off the Record Pink is a sheer light baby pink. I liked that this polish was versatile. I could use one coat (shown here) as a base for a french manicure or it becomes nice and opaque in three coats pictured below.

See how after three coats it almost looks like a creme? I was very pleased with this polish!

 

Here is You Butter Tell Me. This polish is a neon yellow. This was five coats. Yes, five. BUT each coat dried super fast and it really wasn't a hassle at all. Having said that though, next time I'll probably layer it over white, just so I'm not having to go around with five coats of polish on my nails! This is a fun summer yellow, I want to wear it on the beach!

These nail polishes had nice formulas and good brushes. On their website they have a wide selection of colors and they are all priced at $5, which I think is very fair! I will probably be purchasing from them in the future to try more colors!

Neon/Striping Tape fun!

A few nights ago I decided to paint my nails a fun neon color. This was still when the weather was perfect and I was soaking up the sun. On Tuesday, the weather decided to turn to shit here in FL and I haven't had any good beach days since :( Maybe posting my fun neon nails will make the sun come back tomorrow!!

I started with two coats of Spoiled I'm so Jaded, as my base. This beautiful polish is neon lime green with gold/yellow shimmer.

I decided to buy this polish back when Steph, from Imperfectly Painted, featured it on her blog in this post. I don't normally wear greens, but this I am in love with.

A gorgeous beach day to show off my neon nails <3 (I want this weather back now!!)

Then I spruced up this mani by doing some cool stripes on my thumb and ring finger using my new striping tape (which I'll talk about below) and China Glaze Flip Flop Fantasy!

I just placed the tape in the design that I wanted and painted one thick coat of Flip Flop Fantasy over it and peeled the tape off while the polish was still wet! I loved the effect.

Here is the striping tape that I am talking about...it's very thin tape that comes in pretty colors. I've seen some awesome manis where girls leave the tape on for stripes, as well as using it to create crisp lines, like I did.

I bought a pack of 10 of these on ebay for $0.99 with no shipping charges!! The pack came with silver, gold, white, blue, red, purple, etc!

I'm really excited to create tons of cool nail designs with this stuff! Stay tuned :)

Barielle End of the Rainbow

I hope everyone is enjoying their Wednesday! I have a Barielle polish to show you guys today!

Barielle End of the Rainbow. Three coats. Barielle's website describes this color as "sheer aqua green with shimmer." I agree 100% with their description. Even though it was sheer, it built up nicely in three coats as you can see.

I really love this color, but I feel the name isn't fitting. When I think of the end of a rainbow, I think of gold. And when I see this color I think of beautiful ocean water or mermaids. But, who cares about the name when the polish is so pretty!

I really like buying from Barielle because they have quite a few promos from time to time. Plus, lots of times their polish is buy one, get one 50% off! They also have sooo many shades to choose from!

Bandeau & Top Thong

I am super excited about this post today, for so many reasons. First of all, the polishes are both equally amazing...and then when they are put together, the mix is just spectacular...you'll see. Second of all, I am proud of the "artsy" bottle shots I took!!

Here are the two polishes I'm showing you today: Venique Top Thong and Urban Outfitters Bandeau!!

These pretty rocks are the "front yard" at the vacation house I'm staying at! I thought they made for a cool backgroud.

Here is Bandeau on it's own! I just love this purple so much. It dried to a matte/satin finish, as you can see. This color is a blue/purple, but it leans more purple. It is also kind of neon-like. I only needed two coats to reach full opacity.

Now for the beauty of Bandeau mixed with Top Thong:

ahhhh, so amazinggg! Like, I really can't get over it.

Venique Top Thong is opal bar glitter in a clear base along with opal-y square microglitter. People, you need this glitter topcoat! Pictured here is one coat of Top Thong over Bandeau.

I bought Bandeau recently at Urban Outfitters and I bought Top Thong recently also in a small beauty supply store in the Millenia Mall in Orlando; the store was called Blooming Beauty.  I'm not sure where else Venique polishes are sold, unfortunately. But, I have seen them featured on other blogs, so it may be easy to locate where to find some!

Man, I hope you guys are freaking out over this combo like I was...I was sad to take it off!!

Bettina Coutour

Bettina is a brand that is new to me and so I was very excited to try it out. I've seen other blogs, mainly Cristina from Let Them Have Polish, swatch these polishes before and I always thought they were nice. Cristina was able to talk to Bettina about sponsoring our blogger group and luckily, they agreed!

Had I not received this product at my meetup, I may have never been able to try this brand. See the sad thing for us U.S. girls is that Bettina is a hispanic brand, not readily available in the U.S., to my knowledge (someone please correct me if I'm wrong).

Without further ado, here's the one I received:

Bettina Coutour. Two coats. Coutour is a lovely milk chocolate brown. It went on so smoothly and I had no issues with the brush.

Like I've said before, I really enjoy these shades of brown on me. I used to make fun of my mom for loving these shades of polishes. But oh how silly I was; they're great!

One day I hope to try more colors from this brand! But, for now, I'll treasure this little goodie :)

LA Girl Magnetics!

So, I thought the house I was staying at on vacation wouldn't have wifi, but turns out that it does!!! :)

I was lucky enough to receive this polish in my "swag bag" at my last beauty blogger event! Magnetic polishes are huge right now, they are like the "new" shatter polish. At first, only a few companies had these types of polishes and they were pretty expensive. I kind of thought I'd never be able to use them because I wasn't up to paying $15 for one polish. LUCKILY, now it seems everyone is making them and at very reasonable prices!

Before the meetup, I actually didn't know that LA Girl had their own line of magnetics, so I was very excited to try this one!

With these polishes, the magnetic detaches from the cap, which is convenient. The only thing it's missing, that I wished the magnet had, is the little part that sticks out that lets you rest against your cuticle. It helps get the magnet more stabilized when you're putting it next to your nail.

The name of this one is Magnetic Force and it's a dark turquoise/blue magnetic polish:

Here's my final result! Some of the effects aren't placed in the exact center, but that doesn't bother me. I still think the effects in general look awesome!!

The way I applied this: I did two normal coats of polish, like I would with any type of nail polish. After I let that dry a little bit, I went nail by nail and painted one thick coat and put the magnet as close as I could to the nail without touching the wet polish...I held it there for 30 seconds.

For those that don't know, you must use the special magnet that the polish comes with, or another magnet from another magnetic polish. You can't use any old magnet though, like one from the fridge for example.

Here's my favorite nail. The effect came out so nice and strong on this one!

This LA Girl polish applied nicely with no issues and I felt the magnet worked well. I only have three other magnetic nail polishes, so I'm not hugely experienced with these types of polishes. However, I feel like I have enough experience to give this one an A!

Whenever I wear magnetic polish I can't stop staring at my nails!! They almost look 3-D!! This magnetic nail polish trend is one I can definitely hang with!

Icing I Like The Nightlife

This is the other polish I picked up, along with Shredded, on my shopping trip with Steph. They were buy 1, get 1, 50% off...so of course I couldn't buy just one!

Three coats of Icing I Like the Nightlife. This is a slightly sheer periwinkle blue polish with lots of blue microglitter and tons of pretty pink shimmer. So beauitful!

It was a little hard to capture the pink shimmer on camera, so here's a slightly blurred bottle shot to show you! I promise the shimmer is easily visible in real life, just something about my camera didn't want to capture it on my nail.

Sorry this picture is kind of weird, but it shows the pink shimmer really well!

Do you see what doesn't belong in this pic??! LOL I was trying to take pictures and Marvin wanted to get in on the action...I laughed so hard when I saw that his little nose got caught on camera!

On a side note, this is my 50th post! That seems like soo many lol!

Annnd, everytime I hear the number 50...I think of this:

hahaha! Old SNL skits will never get old to me.

Tomorrow I'm headed on vacation with my family for a week! I'm going to try and schedule a few posts, but I can't promise anything. I'll definitely have lots to post about when I get home, because I'm gonna take some polish with me and try to take some pretty polish/beach pictures while I'm there :)
